1. Acceptance of Terms
You must be at least 18 years old to use Portail. By creating an account and checking the age confirmation box during registration, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. Portail relies on this self-declaration and does not independently verify age. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, it will be deleted promptly.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Portail. By registering you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
- You must provide accurate and truthful information
- You may not create multiple accounts
- You may not use another person's account
4. For Passengers
- You may search and book available trips posted by drivers
- Bookings are confirmed only when the driver accepts your request
- You will only be charged once the driver accepts
- You must add a valid payment method before booking
- You are responsible for being at the pickup location on time
5. For Drivers
- Drivers must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- Drivers must complete identity verification before posting trips
- Drivers must have a valid vehicle registered on their profile
- Drivers are responsible for the safety of their passengers
- Drivers must not post trips they cannot complete
6. Cancellation Policy
- Passengers: Free cancellation more than 24 hours before departure. Cancellations within 24 hours of departure will incur a 50% fee. No cancellations are allowed after the trip has departed.
- Drivers: Drivers with active bookings must contact support to cancel a trip. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.
7. Payments
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe
- Portail charges a service fee of $2.50 per seat to passengers and $1.80 per seat to drivers per booking
- Driver earnings are paid out after trip completion
- Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days depending on your bank
8. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use Portail for any illegal activity
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against other users
- Provide false information during registration or verification
- Attempt to circumvent our payment system
- Post fake trips or make fake bookings
9. Ratings and Reviews
- Passengers can rate drivers after a completed trip
- Reviews must be honest and respectful
- Portail reserves the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines
10. Account Suspension and Banning
Portail reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts that:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Receive consistent negative reviews
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Fail driver verification requirements
11. Limitation of Liability
Portail is a platform connecting drivers and passengers. We are not a transportation company. We are not liable for:
- Accidents or injuries during trips
- Lost or damaged property
- Delays or cancellations
- Disputes between drivers and passengers
12. Dispute Resolution
Disputes between drivers and passengers should first be reported to our support team. We will review the situation and mediate where possible. All disputes are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These Terms are available in both English and French. In case of conflict, the French version prevails for Quebec users.
